About
Domonique “Nikki” Miller Semeniuk is a Canadian somatic movement educator, therapist, trainer, dancer, and choreographer known for her clear, practical, and deeply embodied approach to teaching movement. As the founder of NMP Somatic Education Canada and Serenity Somatics, she brings more than 40 years of movement study and teaching into her work — spanning dance, somatic education, clinical practice, and professional training.
Rooted in the lineage of Hanna Somatic Education, Nikki trained at the Novato Institute in California, where she later went on to teach for several years after graduating. This experience deepened her foundation in the work and strengthened her commitment to preserving lineage while also helping it evolve in clear, relevant, and practical ways.
Nikki is a Certified Hanna Somatic Educator and a Master Somatic Movement Educator and Master Somatic Movement Therapist (MSME / MSMT) through ISMETA. Her background also includes certifications with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Acrobatic Arts, and Yoga Alliance.
Her path into somatics was shaped by both professional training and personal transformation. After a hip injury brought an end to her long-time dance studio career, Nikki turned to Hanna Somatics as a way to navigate chronic pain and reclaim freedom of movement. What began as a personal healing journey became a professional calling — and eventually the foundation for the work she now teaches.
Through NMP Somatics™, Nikki leads classes, continuing education, and teacher trainings that support both personal practice and professional development. Her work is grounded in nervous-system-based movement education and shaped by a strong commitment to making somatic learning practical, teachable, and meaningful for today’s students and professionals.
Nikki has also been recognized as a presenter in somatic and dance-focused spaces. She presented Hanna Somatics for Dancers at the 2024 Somatic Movement in Dance Education conference in New York, was invited to present in Spain at the ISMETA conference, and is scheduled to present for AHSE in April 2026.
Whether teaching a class, mentoring trainees, presenting at a conference, or developing curriculum, Nikki is known for helping people understand movement in a way that feels accessible, intelligent, and embodied. She is also deeply committed to building strong learning communities — bringing people together through education, mentorship, and shared professional growth.
