About NMP Somatics™
NMP Somatics™ is a progressive approach to somatic movement education rooted in the lineage of Hanna Somatic Education and developed through years of teaching, observation, and refinement.
Created by Nikki Miller Semeniuk, NMP Somatics™ brings together nervous-system-based movement education, neuromuscular re-patterning, and practical teaching application in a way that is clear, layered, and accessible for today’s students and professionals.
NMP Somatic Education Canada currently offers classes, continuing education, and Foundations-level trainings, while more advanced pathways — including clinical hands-on training, advanced movement integration, and expanded teacher development — are actively being built as the program continues to grow.
Why NMP Somatics™ Was Created
NMP Somatics™ began with a simple intention: to teach somatic exercises in a way that felt clear, structured, and accessible for students.
The earliest stages of the work focused on organizing, naming, and presenting the exercises in a more teachable format, creating a stronger foundation for learning, embodiment, and practice. As Nikki continued teaching, that foundation naturally grew into something larger — a progressive educational model that could support not only the exercises themselves, but the deeper understanding and application of the work.
Over time, student interest, teaching experience, and the realities of practice all helped shape the direction of the program. What began as one focused offering gradually expanded into a broader pathway for personal practice, teacher development, and future advanced study.
NMP Somatics™ emerged from that process as a way to honour lineage while also allowing the work to grow in a clear, thoughtful, and responsive way.

Meet the Founder
NMP Somatics™ was founded by Nikki Miller Semeniuk, a Canadian somatic movement educator, therapist, trainer, and dancer with a deep commitment to helping people reconnect with their bodies through clear, nervous-system-based movement education.
Rooted in the lineage of Hanna Somatic Education, Nikki developed NMP Somatics™ through years of study, teaching, clinical observation, and lived experience — creating a progressive pathway that supports students, professionals, and movers in developing greater awareness, ease, and functional movement.
Through NMP Somatic Education Canada, she continues to build an educational model that honours lineage while making the work practical, teachable, and accessible for today’s learners. Her work is also shaped by a strong commitment to community — bringing people together through learning, mentorship, and shared professional growth.

The Philosophy Behind the Work
NMP Somatics™ is rooted in the lineage of Hanna Somatic Education while continuing to evolve through teaching experience, observation, and an evidence-informed understanding of neuromuscular learning.
At the heart of the work is the belief that meaningful change begins with awareness. Rather than forcing the body into ideal shapes or external correction, NMP invites students to slow down, sense more clearly, and restore voluntary control through the nervous system. This supports change from within — helping habitual patterns become more conscious, adaptable, and functional over time.
The work is guided by principles of embodiment, progression, and practical application. It is designed not only to help people feel better in their bodies, but to help them understand movement more deeply and apply that understanding in daily life, professional practice, and teaching.
NMP Somatics™ honours lineage while recognizing that living work continues to grow. Its philosophy is one of respect for what came before, combined with a commitment to clarity, relevance, and thoughtful evolution.
"A soma isn’t a body, and it isn’t a mind; it’s the living process.” — Thomas Hanna

Where the Training Is Going
NMP Somatics™ is continuing to grow as a progressive educational pathway for both personal and professional development.
What is currently offered includes classes, continuing education, and Foundations-level training. From there, the vision expands into more advanced branches that support different directions of growth — including clinical hands-on training, advanced movement development, and expanded teacher pathways.
As the program evolves, the intention is to build clear, high-quality training options that honour lineage while meeting the needs of today’s students, movement educators, and therapeutic professionals. This includes stronger support for teachers, a connected learning community, and advanced study for those who want to deepen their work beyond the foundational level.
The long-term vision for NMP Somatic Education Canada is not only to offer trainings, but to cultivate a strong and sustainable somatic education community — one that supports embodied learning, professional excellence, and the continued evolution of this work.
Expanding for 2027:
Advanced pathways—clinical hands - on training, deeper standing integration, somatic yoga, and expanded teacher resources.
