Why RMTs Begin with Modules 1–3

Modules 1–3 teach the foundational movements, principles, and verbal cueing skills of NMP Somatics™, in the tradition of Hanna Somatics®. Even if an RMT does not plan to teach group classes, they must understand how to guide each movement clearly with their words, because somatic change depends on the client’s own sensory awareness, voluntary effort, and slow release—not on the practitioner moving the body for them. Learning to direct the movements develops observation, pacing, communication, and the ability to give clients effective home-care support. These foundations are also essential before progressing into the hands-on work of Module 4 and the later clinical pathway.
