Module 2 — NMP Somatics™
Waist + Rotation

(MySoma Reset 45)

Module 2 builds on the foundations of NMP Somatics™ and expands your skills into the waist, ribs, and spinal rotation patterns that often hold “stuck” tension. In this 2-day intensive you’ll deepen your understanding of sensory-motor learning, refine your teaching presence, and learn to guide students through MySoma Reset 45 with clear cueing, safe pacing, and a predictable class structure.

Why This Skill Matters for Bodywork

For RMTs, Module 2 is where the work becomes especially practical for the waist muscles and trunk rotation—the midline patterns that often drive persistent back, rib, and pelvic tension. Even if you never teach group classes, learning to cue these movements clearly trains you to reduce compensation and guide real change without force. Clients don’t need “more stretching”—they need better neuromuscular control and a safe way to unwind patterns they can’t feel on their own. This module deepens your ability to coach home care that clients can actually follow and repeat.

Overview

Module 2 deepens the NMP Somatics™ teacher-training pathway by focusing on the waist, ribs, and spinal rotation—areas that frequently contribute to persistent back, hip, and rib tension patterns. This training continues in the tradition of Hanna Somatics®, using sensory-motor learning principles to restore voluntary control and improve movement efficiency.

Across this 2-day intensive, you’ll explore how rotation patterns influence posture and compensation, and how to unwind tension through precise sequencing and slow, voluntary pandiculation. You’ll expand beyond the foundational sequence to teach MySoma Reset 45, integrating additional movements that build on the Module 1 blueprint while keeping the class structured and easy for students to follow.

Module 2 includes guided practice, integration time, and structured teaching skill-building so you become more confident in your language, pacing, and presence as a teacher. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of how to guide a longer class safely and effectively, while maintaining the core principles that make somatic work successful.
